#
In my first memoir, THERE WAS A SHIP, I was a seriously
debauched French Quarter faerie who went to Seattle in 1964 and
blundered back into the closet to become a husband and father.
Four years later, now a half-century ago, I came out for the
second time as openly gay, though still a callow and feckless fellow.
This second memoir covers 1970 to 72—the years of my supposed
maturation from ages 28 to 30.
